BANNERS ACROSS AMERICA

Along with 150 religious groups across the U.S.,
Presentation Sisters are periodically displaying the banner
on their property to draw attention to a policy
that is both inhuman and un-American.
Below is a “Statement of Conscience Against Torture”
which the Sisters fully support.
It was formulated by the
National Religious Campaign Against Torture.
A Statement of Conscience Against Torture
“Torture violates the basic dignity of the human
person that all religious, in their highest ideals,
hold dear. It degrades everyone involved – policy-makers,
perpetrators and victims. It contradicts our nation’s most
cherished ideals. Any policies that permit torture and inhumane
treatment are shocking and morally intolerable.”
JUSTICE CONTACTS The Social Justice Center at 3001 11th St. S., Fargo,
is just one of eight Presentation Offices across North America
working in collaboration with each other and with our NGO/ECOSOC
Representative, Sr. Fatima Rodrigo, at the United Nations in New York.
Sr. Marlette Black, Networker for the International
Presentation Association (IPA), alerts all the Justice Contacts of
international issues pertinent to our priorities and regions.
Where and when appropriate,
we respond with actions to effect change.
